I guess you could do worse than do the simple and obvious things first. Like trying rogain (Regain in the UK), which is a kind of minoxidil which you apply to the head and is of some benefit to some people. Proscar (The prostate drug) is the second most common (I would think) hair loss drug and is f...

Thank you hairtec, As a proscar user for a number of years now, (With slow thinning continuing despite my Dr Lee mega Xandrox, topical spiro & general vitamins) I would be a good candiate to move over to duasteride? Also, I seem to remeber Dr Cole posting to say that using both proscar and duast...

What you say of course is quite right, there is a disanalogy between pulling a hair from its follicle (leaving in place what we need to grow a hair) and pulling a tooth (Which does not) But an extracted tooth can still re-establish itself if it is re-implanted, so I guess its fair to say that it is ...

I think you are quite right about the rather abstract nature of a lot of medicine. It seems a tremendous waste of talent when so many highly educated Dr's & health profesionals will give the same uniform advice (as you say typically drug related) advice to the same symptoms. The whole point of a...

Damn! Still at least I have helped my health twice by drinking this tea stuff and not getting any cigars! Have you ever thought about ruining a home study course on hair & skin health? I'm half serious here, I mean most of my time on web sites is spent sorting for little nuggets of gold from the...

Thanks for that , you are a real asset! I might have a bit more of that nice Roobosh tea instead from now on! I am I right in thinking that green tea has about a half to a third of the caffeine of black tea?If so I guess that avoiding high caffeine is good as caffeine will have an affect on the adre...

Wise words I think! One advantage of green tea as a topical would be its anti oxidant propertys? I see a lot of skin creams include green tea now to 'neutralize free radicals' presumably that would be just what a newly transplanted graft would need? (In as much as it would struggle to loose its own ...

WHY I drink green tea!

OK, here it is, from the Bald Truth, pg 64 by S D Kobren "Green tea contains catechins, a group of compounds that inhibit the enzyme type I 5 alpha-reductase (which is predominately in the skin, while type 2 is in the skin & prostate) which inhibits DHT. In a chemical reaction like finasteride [...
