Grafting strip scar with plugs from reciepeint/photos

Postby forhair » Wed Nov 01, 2006 5:49 pm

This patient had bad work with strip. In order to achieve a more natural look for the hairline and top we removed 250 minis and micros from the top of the scalp and placed them into the strip scar.

What will the scarring be like where the grafts were removed? It always amazes me in cases where you can remove a graft, run a stitch and have minmal scarring.

It is a small procedure and he should be healing fast, The pinkish will fade between 2-4 months...i have seen cases that after 2 weeks it's been gone.
You can see many examples on the Scar and repair hair restoration forum
and also in the Repair photo galerry

hair transplant corrective work

the reason scarring is so minimal is because the incision site is so shallow. it is the same reason that scarring from FIT is minimal. one reason that strip scars leave wider, more noticiable scars is because you make such a deep incision into the scalp. FIT is the most minimal incision size to the most minimal depth.

I am quite interested in the final results from this procedure. Do you have any up to date information you can share? Pics?

How do both the strip scar and the frontal area look now?

I recently inquired about doing this very thing. :D

I checked our records for result pictures on this patient, and he has not sent us an update yet. I did contact him to see if he would like to submit pictures. If he does, I will update the thread for you. Thank you for the reminder 8) I am looking forward to his pictures too!

Until then, you can check out some of our other plug redistribution and scar grafting examples from our Hair Transplant Repair Forum. There are also pictures of repair patients in the FIT/FUE/BHT Photos Forum.
