STRIP RESULTS/DR. COLE/IHTI

Postby forhair » Wed Jan 25, 2006 5:38 pm

This patient had a STRIP surgery of 1330 grafts performed by Dr. Cole in 2004. Because of this individual's limited hair loss, the team was able to dense pack the grafts to fill in the frontal hairline and temple areas.

Due to some progressive loss, the staff recently did a small FIT procedure of 69 grafts for some fine tuning. About 40% of patients will find that a single session of hair restoration meets their goals. In other words, most patients will typically need more than a single pass. While this reality may be discouraging it is important to note that the results of this first pass are quite excellent. Unless a patient a) looses more hair or b) wishes to lower his hairline significantly, the second pass is almost always going to require fewer grafts than the first.

i think ,judging only from photos ,that this patient (?) ,was ideal for
fit method, of course expert opinion is better.

I feel the same. I wonder why this guy opted for strip for a such a small procedure. I had close to 1500 with similar loss. Results are outstanding. Jeez I hope mine grows in this well!

Man thats interesting. Maybe he is just plain old fashioned or he will never cut his hair short. Luckily he didn't have any loss of pre-existing hair.

yeah, i prefer to do FIT. i'm not a big fan of the strip any longer. it has it's place for some though. age should be a big determinent. anyone who is doing a strip on a person under age 30 really has an obligation to tell them about alternative solutions, especially if advanced degrees of loss may occur. if they don't, they are practicing substandard care in my opinion. could open a huge legal front for some odious lawyer.
